The end of time is often perceived as a philosophical rendering of extreme hopelessness and despair, frequently brought on by war. This concert explores these deep themes and extreme beauty, developed during times of war within the human experience. Our program features music by two artists who produced music of great beauty out of grim circumstances: Messiaen’s iconic Quartet for the End of Time, and Germaine Taillefaire’s Quartet.
